Departure from the hotel by bus and guide. After about 1h, 30 we will arrive in the wonderful Chianti area. Few landscapes in the world are as suggestive as the Chianti area, which offers unique sceneries, where the panorama of green hills, vineyards and olive groves, narrow villages between large medieval walls, winding roads, castles and fortresses will accompany you for the whole day. The Chianti called Classico is the one that extends between Florence and Siena and includes the entire municipalities of Greve, Panzano, Gaiole, Radda, Castellina and Castelnuovo Berardenga.
The sinuous and picturesque hills that stretch between the provinces of Florence, Siena and Arezzo are home to the renowned Chianti area that gives its name to the famous Tuscan wine known and appreciated all over the world.
Probably the origin of the name Chianti derives from the Etruscan word ‘clante’, meaning water, which seems to have been found in large quantities in this area since ancient times.
The tour begins with a visit to a wonderful Castle nestled in the green hills. After the visit we will taste the wines of this area of Tuscany, starting with a visit to a historic cellar located inside the castle that belonged to a family that gave birth to a historical figure.
The wine tasting will be a magical moment, in which tourists will have the pleasure of savoring the delights of the earth, listening to the story of the origin of the name of this precious wine and of the castle. We will then continue with a visit to the ancient vinsantaia.
A taste of balsamic vinegar produced by the company and a taste of Tuscan extra virgin olive oil, which are used for the traditional Tuscan fettunta, will delight the visit, together with the typical cold cuts of Chianti.
In the early afternoon we will continue to Panzano in Chianti.
Panzano in Chianti is a charming Tuscan town located on the top of a hill in the heart of the Chianti Classico area.
Panzano is located exactly halfway between Florence and Siena in the province of Florence, making it an ideal base for your holidays in Tuscany.
In the afternoon another stop in Greve in Chianti to visit the picturesque old town, with tasting of other Tuscan labels in a modern cellar.
The tour continues with the return to the place of origin in the evening.
